What's On
About Take Art
Take Art promotes performance and participation in Somerset.
Take Art is an organisation for the 21st Century. A social enterprise with guiding values and prinicipals, which occupies the space between the public domain and private enterprise.
Our Mission is to produce, promote and facilitate participation in the arts and to continually explore innovative ways in which artists can work with communities to help them thrive. Take Art is therefore driven by both an artistic and social agenda.
Take Art Aims to:
Make arts experiences of the highest quality accessible to all communities within Somerset
Create opportunities within the county for artists and their work to flourish
Develop new opportunities for individuals to participate in as well as observe, appreciate and enjoy the arts.
Promote the arts as an agent of development and change for both individuals and communities
Foster links with participatory and other agencies working on a regional and international level, as well as a local level.
Our Key Areas of work are:
Performance - Participation - Professional Development
Advocacy, Advice and Information - Research and Development
Take Art delivers these through our five service areas:
Take Art: Live
High quality entertainment in village halls
Take Art: Start Bringing the arts to the early years and their families
Take Art: Create Long term participatory arts projects
Take Art: Dance
Providing high quality experiences and opportunities for those interested in dance.
Take Art: Theatre Creating new opportunities for writers, performers and theatre makers across the county.
